New Alliance Air Scheme Promises ‘Fare Se Fursat’

New Alliance Air Scheme Promises ‘Fare Se Fursat’ (Freedom from Fare Stress) with Fixed Ticket Prices

In a significant move aimed at democratizing air travel and eliminating last-minute price spikes, the government-owned regional carrier Alliance Air has launched a pilot scheme offering a single, fixed airfare on select routes.

The initiative, titled ‘Fare Se Fursat’ (Freedom from Fare Stress), was inaugurated by Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu. The core idea is revolutionary for the Indian aviation sector: the ticket price remains constant regardless of the booking date, even on the day of departure.

Key Details of the Scheme:

Fixed Pricing Model: Unlike the current dynamic pricing system where fares fluctuate based on demand, seasonality, and time to departure, ‘Fare Se Fursat’ provides absolute stability and predictability in ticket costs.

Pilot Phase: The scheme is being implemented on a pilot basis from October 13 to December 31, 2025, across select regional routes to assess its operational viability and passenger response.

Alignment with UDAN: The Minister emphasized that this ‘One Route, One Fare’ approach perfectly aligns with the principles of the UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, making air travel more accessible and affordable, especially for middle-class and first-time flyers from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

If successful, this pilot project could fundamentally change how air tickets are priced on regional routes, removing a major source of stress for passengers who often face exorbitant fares for last-minute bookings.
